WASHINGTON, DC, April 1, 2020 — The National Academies Press released a Rapid Expert Consultation on the possibility that coronavirus may be transmitted via aerosols. They looked into this matter as a request to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
In their statement, Dr. Fineberg says “A study of SARS-CoV-2 raises concerns about transmission via aerosols generated from droplet contaminated surfaces… a direct source of SARS-CoV-2 may be a virus laden aerosol resuspended.”
